How you read your meter depends on the type of meter you have.
If you have a single rate electricity meter with a key pad, you will need to press 9 to wake the meter up. The meter will display ‘IMP KWH’ and will then change to your meter reading.
If you have a two rate electricity meter with a key pad, once you have pressed 9 to wake the meter up you will need to press 6 four times to display R1 and five times to display R2.
If your electricity meter has two buttons, sometimes marked as A and B, pressing button A (also known as display select) will cycle through your meter screens. The meter reading will be displayed in kWh.
If your gas meter has a key pad, press 9 to wake the meter up. The meter will display volume and then show the reading.
If your gas meter has two buttons, pressing button A will run through the different screens until the reading is shown in m³.
Your electricity reading will show in kWh and your gas reading will show in m³.
